Sahib Shihab-Sentiments

Just trawling thru my records this weekend and realized, just how much stuff has been uploaded to the blogs already!!! so its difficult not to duplicate but i will try my best lol!!
Anyway i dont think this album has been posted in recent times, but it has a reissue which is a two album CD featuring both storyville recordings. The other being the Danish radio jazz group album which is available for purchase at all good record stores!!!! ;)
I think this may of had a japanese reissue on vinyl at some point, but my rip is the original....
Side a is the strongest IMO feat 'MA'NEE' And 'THE CALL' which are my choice cuts...also the title track 'sentiments' which is rare funky organ workout by sahib....

Ripped at 320....Njoy n leave a comment...............

Agree.
I had this record a few years ago, after Danish Jazz Group, with its 2005 single cd remastering. I am a fan of Sahib's work in the late '50 with Quincy Jones and Clarke-Boland group; what an underrated musician he was. Love his solos, his spare funky touch, his occasional singing performances

Somehow this is the first time I've happened on your place - I certainly like what I've seen - I'll be placing your link into my Hip Spaces on my blog - I already have these recordings but somehow I couldn't resist grabbing them from an original issue of the LP thanks

Many thanks, Ambrose! A hard to find Shihab. And amazing scans you offer to us. It is indispensible for knowing the story of the recording and also beautiful photos os the performers. Congratulations for your excelent job!

Sahib should be elevated into the Hall of Fame of the Most Underrated Jazzmen!
Is it because he lived in Europe for a long time?
